Sunset Weddings on the Beach in Southern California

There are few scenes more beautiful than the horizon as the sun sets over the Pacific Ocean.  Naturally, many wedding couples plan their beach wedding at sunset so the stunning multi-colored panorama of sunset setting into the water or disappearing into clouds can  be the back drop to their exchange of vows.  Such a wedding ceremony  can be quite memorable to those lucky enough to see the lovely natural beauty that we in Southern California often take for granted. However, planning a Southern California beach wedding as the sun sets can present unexpected obstacles that many couples may not consider.

This Wedding Officiant Reads Some Beautiful Words

As a Los Angeles wedding officiant I get to meet people from all over the world on one of the happiest days of their life. Last weekend I had the pleasure to officiate an intimate private wedding for a young British couple who decided to elope while they were visiting Los Angeles. At the conclusion of their wedding ceremony they asked me to read a passage from “The House at Pooh Corner” by A.A. Milne.

Sunset Weddings on the Beach

Although we Southern California natives sometimes take it for granted, there are few images more beautiful than the multi-colored horizon as the sun sets over the Pacific Ocean. Valentine’s Day Wedding – Officiant in Malibu

P and W (I issued a confidential marriage license for their private wedding ceremony) were married on beautiful Point Dume Beach in Malibu just before sunset. Before we arrived an unknown stranger, perhaps another wedding couple, left a a beautiful heart made of flower petals. To top it all off, a couple of dolphins played in the ocean behind me as they exchanged their vows.
