The Supreme Court of the United States declared on June 26, 2013 that the parties challenging the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals finding that Prop 8 was unconstitutional did not have standing to challenge the 9th Circuit Court's decision. Proposition 8 was intended to ban LGBT or same sex marriages. As a result, the Ninth Circuit's decision that Prop 8 has no legal effect will stand.
